Welcome to Southwind Psychotherapy
Virtual psychotherapy for adults across Ontario
Indigenous-owned and values-led, offering compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care.
Healing begins with connection.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. Maybe you know exactly what you want support with, or maybe you just know that something hasn’t been feeling quite right.
I support adults navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, grief and loss, relationship challenges, burnout, self-esteem, life transitions, and feeling stuck or disconnected. You don’t need to fit neatly into one of these categories to reach out.
I believe healing happens through connection: to ourselves, to others, and to the things that give our lives meaning. Therapy is a space to slow down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and understand your experiences in the context of the whole person you are. We’ll start wherever you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.
Connection starts here.
Hi, I’m Shana. I’m an Anishinaabe/Ojibway Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist offering virtual therapy to adults across Ontario.
Southwind Psychotherapy is an Indigenous-owned practice rooted in connection, respect, reciprocity, and care for the whole person. These values shape how I approach therapy: not simply focusing on symptoms, but taking the time to understand you, your relationships, your experiences, and the broader context of your life.
My approach is client-centred, trauma-informed, relational, and culturally responsive. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be yourself, speak openly, and feel genuinely heard and understood. We’ll work together in a way that feels collaborative, meaningful, and grounded in what matters to you.
For First Nations, Inuit, and Métis clients, I also offer culturally responsive care that creates space for culture, identity, family, community, colonialism, and intergenerational experiences as meaningful parts of your story and healing.
NIHB-Covered Psychotherapy
Eligible First Nations and Inuit clients may have psychotherapy sessions fully covered through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program. Southwind Psychotherapy offers direct billing to NIHB, which means there is no out-of-pocket cost for eligible, covered sessions.
